With an overall feel and look that is well balanced; the artist managed to apply textures and color tints at the right spots to let the subject stand out where needed. A closer look at the details in used stock tells us it's not different from the general combined picture; as it's indeed the highlighted areas that shape up the atmosphere. Maybe the central space where the house and the treeline meet is missing a bit of depth -one could technically mention it's lacking a bit of dimension, dynamics- but this is not what the artist was after to emphasise in my opinion, on the contrary perhaps. Thus I maintain; this picture comes out strong and nicely sticky to communicate in atmosphere with the giant moon lighting the textured sky and contrasting the viewer's side of the desolated house. Also mind the landscape background stock, with the detailed red-lit spots in a painted look; a neat style that continues on to the ladder.
